A hardware supplier on six retail programs, working only in Odoo

Retail EDI · Case study

Client
A US hardware supplier with its own warehouse, running Odoo 19
Retailers
Home Depot, Home Depot DFC (9 store programs), Zoro, Shopify, Mathis Home and more
In production since
April 2026

The problem

Every new retailer arrived with its own EDI packet: different document formats, test files and a certification to pass. The usual options meant thousands of dollars in setup per retailer and another portal to log into next to Odoo. Orders were copied by hand, and every ship notice and invoice had to be keyed in again.

What we did

  • Connected each retailer the way it requires: EDI through Home Depot's and Zoro's networks, and direct API connections where the retailer offers one.
  • Took the supplier through Home Depot DFC certification. Nine store programs now run on one connection.
  • Set up Odoo so retailer orders arrive as sales orders and the warehouse ships from Odoo: validating a delivery prints the label and packing slip and sends the ship notice and invoice to the retailer.

Why it worked

The supplier's team didn't have to learn EDI. They took orders, picked, packed and shipped in Odoo, and DargaSvir Tech handled everything between Odoo and the retailers.
